Our Strategy to Achieve Net Zero

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we are aiming to achieve net zero emissions by 2025. This goal reflects our dedicaton to reducing our environmental impact and building a more responsible future. Throughout this page, we have included detail on how we will look to achieve net zero.

We are working to reduce our carbon footprint

We’re proud to partner with Trees for Life to reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve created our own EAS Grove, which will grow alongside our business, as part of our ongoing commitment to offset emissions through regular tree planting. By supporting the regeneration of a wild forest in the Scottish Highlands, we’re helping wildlife thrive and making a positive impact on local communities.

We are introducing electric vehicles across our fleet

We’re committed to supporting sustainable travel at Electricity Asset Services by using VW ID Buzz electric vehicles to transport non-safety critical employees. To further encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, we’ve installed electric car charging points at our office locations and offer a salary sacrifice programme that enables staff to purchase electric vehicles at up to 50% off

Responsible Production and Consumption

At Electricity Asset Services, we put the waste hierarchy into practice by reducing waste at the source, choosing sustainable materials, and making the most of resources through recycled and reusable content. Wherever possible, we design with circular principles in mind, including cradle-to-cradle approaches.

We also provide clients with useful circularity data such as component lifespans, durability, repair pathways, and remanufacturing options. Beyond this, we’re encouraging wider engagement with the circular economy and exploring partnerships with organisations like the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and PACE.

Waste Management

A key focus for any project is to minimise landfill waste in an effort to meet our waste management targets of 95% diversion and 55% recycling by tonnage.

We also expect the same commitment from our suppliers and contractors. They’re helping by choosing products that use fewer raw materials and less packaging, lower embedded carbon, and maximise recycled content, product lifespan, and recyclability.
