Are you ready to start a career in the Electrical Industry?

At EAS, we believe in investing in people, and that commitment starts with our trainees.

Our trainee programmes are designed to provide a strong foundation within the utilities sector, combining hands-on experience with practical industry knowledge to help individuals build successful long-term careers.

Throughout their journey with EAS, trainees receive ongoing support and guidance from experienced teams across the business, gaining valuable exposure to live projects and day-to-day operational activities across multiple disciplines.

We provide opportunities across a range of areas within the business, including civils, jointing, design and support functions, allowing trainees to develop practical experience and a broader understanding of how our projects are delivered from start to finish.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our next intake of trainees and continuing to support the development of future talent across the industry.

Tailored Trainee Programme

Many of the individuals who began their careers with EAS have progressed into senior and leadership roles within the business, managing teams, delivering complex projects and supporting the continued growth of the company across the energy sector.

We continue to work alongside organisations including Heriot-Watt University and Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Fife to help create meaningful opportunities for those entering the industry and to support ongoing development within the sector.

As part of our continued investment in training and development, EAS has established a dedicated on-site training centre at our Lochgelly office to support trainees across multiple disciplines.

The facility provides a structured environment where trainees can develop practical skills and industry knowledge before progressing onto live operational works. This includes purpose-built training booths for electric enabling works and jointing activities, alongside a dedicated external training area used to develop civils knowledge, cable avoidance awareness, safe use of hand tools and experience operating plant and equipment.

By combining structured training with real project experience, we aim to give every trainee the strongest possible foundation for a successful career within the industry.

Apprenticeship FAQs

In a jointing role, there’s plenty of room to progress and expand your skills. As you gain experience, you’ll have the chance to work towards additional accreditations, including HV and LV cable work. There are also clear routes into supervisory and managerial positions for those who want to take the next step in their career.

For our office-based trainees, we offer the same commitment to development. We’re happy to support you through further training and professional qualifications that will help you grow in your role, with opportunities to progress into senior or management positions as your career develops.
When you first join Electricity Asset Services, you’ll spend time across different departments to gain a solid understanding of how the business operates and how each team works together. Once you’ve built that foundation, you’ll move into your chosen department or, if you’re on a jointing pathway, you’ll be paired with a lead jointer who will guide and support your learning as you develop in your day-to-day role.
Our main operational office is based in Lochgelly, Fife, where all inductions and training take place for employees in safety-critical roles such as jointing. Day to day, you’ll typically be working across our various sites throughout Scotland, depending on project locations.

For office-based positions, we also have offices in Larbert and Airdrie, giving you the flexibility to work from the location that best suits you.
Applications for our 2025 apprenticeship intake are now closed. However, we’ll be advertising trainee opportunities throughout the year, so keep an eye on our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram pages for updates. You can also find our latest vacancies on Indeed so be sure to check there for any new roles that become available.
